About Me

I was born in Montana and raised in Illinois.  I am an introvert and shy by nature.

As a kid, I always had a book in my hands.

I also used to like to write. I kept a journal (still do) and would also jot down scenes that ran through my head…on napkins, scrap pieces of paper or in a notebook. I always dreamed of writing a book, but I never really thought I had it in me.

As I got older, I put aside the creative writing and moved on to other endeavors. For decades.

I love to travel!

In my 20s, I took a trip to Europe and ended up staying there for two-and-a-half years, living in the mountains in Germany and traveling from there. I still go back every chance I get.

I get outdoors whenever I can, and the mountains are my happy place.

When I came back to the States, I decided it was time to grow up. I got a full-time job and eventually made my way back to college. I enjoyed it so much, I ended up with two master’s degrees and a PhD!  I taught at a university and in K-12 classrooms, and there were aspects of teaching I enjoyed…

But, I’ve never led a conventional life.  I jumped the career track, bought an RV and hit the road, teaching university courses remotely and working freelance. I travel with my bestie and each of us has two cats. Yes! Four cats in a 30-foot RV.

I wrote my first book (Travel Cats: tips for beginning an RV journey with your feline family) because people asked me so many questions about traveling in an RV with cats (they love it, by the way!).

I wrote a blog.

But I still didn’t consider writing a novel, let alone a trilogy!

About a year into my travels, the idea for The Undoing trilogy came to me in a moment of inspiration, and I knew that I’d write it. After finishing the first book, I was hooked. It wasn’t easy, but I’d finally realized that dream I’d had as a child, and now…I’m not letting it go.

The Undoing Trilogy is just the beginning for me, and I am happy to have you along for the ride!
